Three police personnel sustained injuries after a knife attack during patrol duty in Cuttack late Wednesday night.
The incident occurred near a pond inside the premises of the OMP 6th Battalion. A patrolling team noticed a young couple sitting in the area and asked them to leave. The couple allegedly turned violent and attacked the officers with knives.
The policemen suffered stab wounds on the neck, back, and hands. They received immediate medical attention and were admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Chauliaganj police registered a case and began investigating the assault. Officers collected evidence from the scene and recorded statements from witnesses. The investigation aims to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the assault.
