The campus election atmosphere has turned volatile at SVM College in Jagatsinghpur, where two rival student groups came face-to-face following allegations of cash and biryani distribution among students on the premises.
The confrontation erupted between candidates of the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABV) as accusations surfaced regarding corrupt practices to influence voters.
Protesting alleged bias in the electoral process, members of the BCJD launched a sit-in demonstration (mass dharna) in front of the college’s main gate. The protest has led to heightened tension in the area. To maintain law and order and bring the situation under control, police forces have been deployed at the spot.
