Singapore recently experienced the vibrant flavors of Odisha at the Odisha Food Festival, hosted by the High Commission of India from April 10 to 12, 2025.
This grand event, held in collaboration with Odisha Tourism, Global Schools Foundation (GSF), and the Odia Society Singapore, celebrated the rich culinary heritage of Odisha.
Over 120 distinguished guests, including representatives from Singapore’s government, media, academia, and business community, savored authentic Odia delicacies. The festival included a captivating Odia Cuisine workshop, where chefs from Odisha demonstrated traditional recipes, bringing the taste of Odisha to international audiences.
The event also marked a step forward in strengthening the Odisha-Singapore connection. Recent visits by prominent leaders like Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Odisha’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi have bolstered ties. Experts believe that Odisha’s diverse tourism offerings, coupled with direct flights to Bhubaneswar, could significantly boost tourism from Singapore.
As a nod to the festival’s success, the High Commissioner felicitated the skilled chefs who brought Odisha’s culinary magic to Singapore. This event not only celebrated Odisha’s rich culture but also opened doors for potential business collaborations.
