The Fourth Governing Body meeting of the Subhadra Society was held today at Lok Seva Bhawan, chaired by Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
The session ratified a key proposal—to disburse the third instalment of the Subhadra Scheme on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, August 9, 2025.
This meeting also greenlit administrative and associated expenditures under the scheme. Notably, the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi, has been enlisted to conduct a detailed impact study titled “Subhadra’s Reach Across Odisha Districts.” Discussions during the meeting emphasised the effectiveness, accessibility, and digital financial inclusion outcomes of the scheme for all beneficiary categories.
In alignment with prior decisions, IIM Sambalpur will begin field surveys in early July through the “College Girls for Subhadra Review” initiative. IIM will offer end-to-end support in survey design, data analysis, tools, and training to ensure accurate insights.
The committee underscored the importance of skill development to ensure optimal use of Subhadra assistance. In this regard, consultations with the Skill Development Department are underway. It was unanimously decided that continuous review mechanisms will be employed to assess the scheme’s progress and refine beneficiary support strategies.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Principal Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department Shubha Sharma, Director Monisha Banerjee, and other departmental representatives.
