Bollywood superstar and Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan celebrated the franchise’s maiden Major League Cricket (MLC) title after the team clinched the 2026 championship in a thrilling final.
Sharing his excitement on social media, Shah Rukh praised the players for fulfilling their promise of winning the tournament and highlighted the rapid growth of cricket in the United States.

Following LAKR’s title-winning performance, Shah Rukh Khan lauded captain Sunil Narine, Jason Holder, Andre Russell and the entire squad for their outstanding campaign.
In a celebratory post, the actor wrote:

The victory marks the first-ever Major League Cricket championship for the Los Angeles Knight Riders since the league’s inception.
The triumph also comes weeks after Shah Rukh Khan inaugurated the Knight Riders Cricket Stadium in Pomona, California, further strengthening the franchise’s commitment to promoting cricket in the United States.
New home for LA Knight Riders
The Knight Riders Cricket Ground, located at Fairplex in Pomona, Los Angeles County, officially opened in July 2026 and serves as LAKR’s home venue.
The stadium currently has a seating capacity of around 5,000 spectators, with expansion plans that aim to increase capacity to more than 20,000 permanent seats in the coming years.
The facility is expected to play a key role in the development of cricket in North America as the sport continues to gain popularity ahead of future global tournaments.
