Rourkela: Police on Tuesday busted a sex racket being run at the house at ECR block of Chhend Colony in Rourkela city and detained as many as 12 persons including six women.
Even though the police are still tight-lipped about the incident, locals said that they had been noticing men and women coming to the house at different times for the last couple of months following which they suspected that a sex racket was being operated from the house.
Sources said that earlier a policeman used to live in the house. But after the owner sold the house, the cop vacated it and another person, who claims to be the owner of a beauty parlour, started staying in the house.
Today the Chhend police reached the spot around 1 PM and apprehended six women and six men, eyewitnesses said.
The house owner and the arrested men and women are reportedly being interrogated. However, the police are yet to confirm the details.
