Police in Jagatsinghpur district busted a suspected sex racket operating from a house near Rahama village under Tirtol police station limits on Saturday.
Acting on a tip‑off, a team led by Tirtol IIC Bansidhar Pradhan raided the premises and detained five persons, including four women and a youth.
During the raid, police seized Rs 2,100 in cash, condoms, a purse, and nine mobile phones. Officials said that some other persons allegedly involved in the racket managed to flee before the raid.
The detained individuals have been taken into custody for questioning. Police are probing their alleged involvement and working to identify whether more people were part of the operation.
