The Orissa High Court Bar Association (OHCBA) has elected its new office-bearers for the 2026-27 term, with Senior Advocate Lalatendu Samantaray securing the position of President in a key democratic exercise for the state’s legal fraternity.
Hrudananda Mahapatra was elected as Secretary, while Sanjukta Bala Das won the post of Treasurer. The results were announced following voting by the association’s members, who number over several thousand advocates practicing at the High Court in Cuttack.
The election represents an important internal democratic process for the Bar, which plays a vital role in upholding professional standards, advocating for lawyers’ welfare, and engaging with judicial and administrative issues affecting the legal community in Odisha.
Congratulations poured in from fellow advocates and well-wishers on social media, with many expressing confidence in Samantaray’s leadership for the upcoming term.
