The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted a commanding 207/6 in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium in Match 33 of IPL 2026.
Sanju Samson stole the show with a brilliant 101 off 54 balls, smashing 10 fours and 6 sixes. Sarfaraz Khan and Dewald Brevis chipped in with crucial runs, while MI’s bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Ashwani Kumar, and Allah Ghazanfar picked key wickets.
Both MI and CSK entered the clash struggling in the lower half of the table, with equal points but poor net run rates. MI recently bounced back with a 99‑run win over Gujarat Titans, while CSK have been hampered by injuries and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s inconsistent form.
The rivalry remains fierce, with CSK dominating recent head‑to‑head encounters, winning five of the last seven since 2022.
