Odisha unveiled a comprehensive roadmap for scaling AgriPV and advancing climate-resilient growth during a high-level workshop in Bhubaneswar on June 6, 2026.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo inaugurated the event, emphasising that AgriPV can boost farmer incomes while reinforcing the State’s clean energy goals under Viksit Odisha 2036.
Key launches included the report “Empowering Farmers through AgriPV” by GRIDCO Ltd. and Vasudha Foundation, the Odisha State Energy Action Plan (OSEAP) web platform for long-term energy planning, two 150-meter wind resource assessment masts at Sonapur and Gopalpur in Ganjam, and battery energy storage purchase agreements for a 125 MW / 500 MWh BESS project across six substations.
Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Vishal Kumar Dev highlighted Odisha’s holistic approach to energy transition through renewables, storage, and data-driven planning to meet rising demand. GRIDCO Managing Director Dr Satyapriya Rath added that AgriPV, combined with storage and modern planning, can drive sustainable and inclusive growth for rural communities.
Delegates engaged in technical discussions on policy, financing, and implementation strategies to scale AgriPV in Odisha. The workshop also showcased Odisha’s leadership in disaster resilience and sustainable energy, aligning with the State’s broader vision of climate-resilient development.
