Odisha Vigilance arrested Padmalochan Nayak, Executive Engineer of CADA, Sambalpur Division, for possession of disproportionate assets.
Officials confirmed that Nayak will be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, today.
Searches on his properties revealed assets far beyond his known sources of income. Vigilance teams seized three buildings, including a multi-storeyed structure of 18,840 square feet in Cuttack, 18 valuable plots, cash worth Rs 3.45 lakh, three four-wheelers, two JCBs, one tractor, and one trailer. Nayak failed to provide satisfactory explanations for the assets.
Authorities registered Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 07/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. Officials stated that the arrest marks a significant step in Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing drive against disproportionate assets among government officials.
