Bhubaneswar: The Rukuna Rath Yatra of Lord Lingaraj was held on the occasion of Ashokastami on Tuesday without the participation of devotees.
However, the chariot pulling was halted midway due to sunset. The devotees were debarred to pull chariot following rise in coronavirus cases in the state.
The chariot of Lord Lingaraj was pulled by police personnel and servitors of the Temple who had tested negative for COVID-19. The deities, Lord Lingaraj (Chandrasekhar), Devi Rukmani and Lord Vasudev (Dolagobinda) were seated on the Chariot.
The Lords will stay at Rameswar Temple for five days. The devotees witnessed the Chariot-pulling from the rooftops. There was very limited crowd on the route of the chariot.
