Rourkela Police achieved another major success by recovering more than 100 stolen and lost mobile phones in a special operation across different police station areas of the city.
The recovered phones were formally handed over to their rightful owners at a distribution programme held at Rourkela Police Headquarters on Thursday. Superintendent of Police Nitesh Wadhwani personally handed over the devices, bringing relief to citizens who had lost hope of retrieving their phones.
This marks the second major recovery in six months. In September last year, Rourkela Police successfully traced and returned 92 stolen mobile phones to their owners. With the latest recovery, the police have set a record in tracing and returning stolen devices, reinforcing public trust in their efficiency.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by residents, many of whom expressed satisfaction at the proactive measures taken by the police. Authorities confirmed that similar operations will continue to ensure stolen property is traced and returned promptly.
The success of this operation highlights the commitment of Rourkela Police to community service and crime control, strengthening their reputation for effective policing in the region.
