Antarjyami Sahu, Forest Range Officer of Kashipur Forest Range in Rayagada district, has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
He will be produced before the Special Vigilance Court in Jeypore today.
Following extensive searches across multiple locations, Vigilance officials unearthed:
- 5 buildings spread across Kandhamal, Berhampur, and Daringbadi
- 9 valuable plots, including six near Baliguda and three in Ganjam district
- Gold ornaments weighing 263.22 grams
- Bank and postal deposits worth Rs 27.99 lakhs
- Cash and household items valued at Rs 9.43 lakhs
The raids were conducted at nine locations by a team of DSPs, inspectors, and ASIs. The properties were traced to Sahu and his family members, and their valuation is ongoing. A case has been registered under Koraput Vigilance PS Case No. 28/2025.
Sahu began his career as a Forester in 2007, served over 16 years in Kandhamal district, and was promoted to Forest Range Officer in August 2023.
