NEET paper leak controversy

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government, demanding the immediate dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.

Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of remaining silent while the future of 22 lakh students was jeopardised.

The NEET exam, held on May 3, was cancelled after reports of irregularities and widespread protests. A re-test has now been scheduled for June 21. Gandhi alleged that the paper was circulated on WhatsApp before the exam, rendering two years of preparation futile for lakhs of aspirants.

He further charged Pradhan with negligence, claiming the minister ignored committee recommendations and refused to take responsibility. Gandhi also alleged a nexus between RSS, BJP, and university officials, asserting that Vice Chancellor appointments were being made on ideological grounds rather than merit.

Highlighting a broader pattern, Gandhi said nearly 80 paper leaks have undermined India’s education system, affecting the future of two crore youths. He reiterated that Pradhan must be sacked and those guilty of the leak should face arrest and jail.
