President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tributes to Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary today.
President Murmu honoured Ambedkar at Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, offering floral tributes. She described him as the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a great social reformer, expressing her humble respect on the occasion.

Prime Minister Modi shared his tribute through a message and a Sanskrit Shubhashitam, emphasising Ambedkar’s unparalleled contributions to nation-building. He said Babasaheb’s life and ideals inspire citizens to work toward a just, inclusive, and progressive society. Modi noted that Ambedkar’s personality and works will remain a guiding force for India’s development.
On social media, the Prime Minister wrote, “Tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. His efforts towards nation-building are deeply motivating. His life and work continue to inspire generations to build a just and progressive society.”
The Sanskrit verse he shared, “अयं निजः परो वेति गणना लघुचेतसाम्। उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्॥”, reflected Ambedkar’s vision of inclusivity and universal brotherhood.
