Pradeep Kumar Jena, the former Chief Secretary of Odisha, has been sworn in as the Chairman of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC).
The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, administered by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati in the presence of esteemed guests and members of the OERC.
Jena’s appointment, officially announced by the Odisha Energy Department on March 28, 2025, fills the position left vacant after the retirement of Suresh Mohapatra. A 1989-batch IAS officer, Jena served as Odisha’s Chief Secretary from February 26, 2023, until his retirement on June 30, 2024. His extensive administrative experience is expected to bring valuable insights to the role as he guides the state’s electricity regulatory framework forward.
