Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah of Kuwait on Tuesday, discussing the evolving security situation in West Asia and stressing the need for de-escalation and diplomacy to restore peace.
Modi expressed deep concern over rising tensions in the region and reaffirmed India’s strong condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasised dialogue and diplomatic engagement as the only path toward stability.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Amir for his personal attention to the safety and well-being of the large Indian community in Kuwait. His remarks came days after an Indian national was killed in an Iranian strike on Kuwait International Airport on June 3. Another Indian had died earlier in a similar attack on a power and desalination plant on March 30.
The Modi-Amir Kuwait telephonic conversation reflects India’s proactive diplomatic outreach amid escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel. Modi reiterated India’s consistent stand for peace and stability in West Asia, highlighting the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring regional security.
