Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Slovakia’s highest national honour, the Order of the White Double Cross, First Class, from Slovak President Peter Pellegrini during a ceremony in Bratislava.
The award recognises his contribution to strengthening global partnerships and fostering India–Slovakia relations.
Modi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President, the Government, and the people of Slovakia for the distinguished honour. He said the recognition represents the collective achievements of 1.4 billion Indians and reflects the enduring friendship between the two nations.
The Prime Minister described the award as a symbol of warmth, trust, and affection that unite India and Slovakia. He emphasised that the honour will inspire future generations in both countries to nurture their special bond and expand cooperation across sectors.
The Order of the White Double Cross is Slovakia’s highest state decoration, conferred for extraordinary service in promoting international goodwill.
