In a shocking incident that has drawn widespread condemnation, a senior official from Pakistan’s military posted in the UK was caught on camera making a throat-slitting gesture at Indian community members protesting outside the Pakistan High Commission in London.
The demonstrators were gathered to denounce the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali national.
The protest, largely peaceful, took a disturbing turn when the Pakistani Army Attache, believed to be a high-ranking officer, stepped outside the High Commission premises and made the threatening gesture towards the crowd. Eyewitnesses described the action as “intimidating and provocative,” prompting calls for immediate diplomatic action.
Colonel Taimur Rahat of Pakistan Army, Air and Army Attache at Pakistan’s Mission in UK gestured to slit the throats of Indian diaspore while holding a placard with a picture of Indian Air Force Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman in his hand.
