Jajpur: One labourer was killed while three others were trapped in a mining accident in the Dankari hills under Dharmashala tehsil in Jajpur district on Thursday.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, due to vibration or some other reasons, the soil was crushed. It is suspected that the people working in Khadan have been left inside due to the landslide of large rocks from the hill. Only a wagon drill machine was seen. Before the arrival of the police, local people reached there and saw that a man had died under the stone.
After the incident, Jenapur OIC Subhendu Kumar Sahu, Dharmashala Tehsildar Subhankar Mohanty and the DDM of Jajpur Mining Department reached there. A rescue operation has been launched to rescue the other three labourers from the mine.
