The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a gradual rise of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in maximum daytime temperatures across Odisha over the next four days.
After this period, no major change is expected.
A yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph at isolated places in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts within the next 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Keonjhar. Dry weather will prevail elsewhere.
On March 24, rain or thundershowers are likely in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Malkangiri, and Koraput. On March 25 and 26, similar conditions may affect districts including Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
On March 27, thunderstorms are expected in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, with isolated rain in other districts.
