Odisha Vigilance has arrested Bhanja Kishore Behera, Ex‑SRA of Tirtol Block (later posted at Naugaon Tahasil), and Pradipta Kumar Mallik, retired Ex‑PEO of Tirtol Block, for allegedly embezzling government funds worth Rs 3,02,95,000.
Investigators revealed that Behera, Mallik, and late Rajdeep Hansda (Ex‑AEE, Tirtol Block) systematically misappropriated funds between 2011–12 and 2021–22 by fabricating and tampering with salary registers and disbursal documents. Fraudulent and inflated salary bills were prepared far beyond sanctioned allocations, with the diverted amounts transferred directly into their personal savings accounts.
The case has been registered under Kataka Vigilance PS Case No. 30 dated 12.08.2026 for offences under the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and relevant sections of the IPC, including 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, and 34.
Behera and Mallik are being forwarded to the Court of the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Kataka. The investigation is ongoing to trace the money trail and identify further complicity.
