Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will distribute new ration cards to eligible beneficiaries in Puri on April 24, coinciding with National Panchayati Raj Day.
As per Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, around 5,90,000 individuals have been identified to receive the new ration cards, ensuring food security across the state. However, nearly 25 lakh people are yet to complete their e-KYC verification, a necessary step for availing the benefits.
To expedite the process, government field officers have been deployed for ground-level verification, visiting households to facilitate e-KYC completion. “Our officers will personally ensure that eligible applicants are verified and receive their ration cards without delay,” said Minister Patra.
The distribution will be carried out in phases to accommodate the large number of recipients. Authorities have also warned against fraudulent applications and are conducting thorough checks to weed out ineligible cases.
The Odisha government is committed to ensuring that no deserving citizen is left behind in its ration card distribution initiative, reinforcing the state’s dedication to social welfare and food security.
