Odisha’s burgeoning entrepreneurship ecosystem under Startup Odisha gained national prominence as three grassroots startups from the State showcased their homegrown solutions at an exclusive exhibition at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The founders of GARGI Automated & Robotic Gadget Industries, Newrup Tech Solutions, and Urban‑Hyphae Bioscience presented their innovations and interacted with President Droupadi Murmu at the Cultural Centre, Rashtrapati Bhavan. The exhibition was hosted under the Atal Innovations Mission, featuring innovators from across India.
Odisha’s MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik hailed the recognition as a reflection of the State’s growing potential in grassroots innovation. Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary Rashmita Panda emphasised the role of the Odisha Startup Policy in nurturing young talent, while Startup Odisha CEO Smrutiranjan Pradhan highlighted support through incubation, grants, and platforms for scaling businesses.
- GARGI Automated, founded by Shital Zemane, is developing assistive robotic technologies like transformable bed‑chairs and exoskeletons to empower persons with disabilities.
- Newrup Tech Solutions, led by Anup Paikaray, introduced CHULIV, a clean cooking solution reducing indoor air pollution and improving fuel efficiency.
- Urban‑Hyphae Bioscience, spearheaded by Adhiraj Mohapatra, is transforming agricultural waste into mushroom‑based leather alternatives, promoting sustainability in fashion and materials.
