Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of flood‑affected areas in Jajpur, Bhadrak, Baleshwar and Kendujhar districts, reviewing the extent of inundation and ongoing relief operations.
Accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee and Special Relief Commissioner Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, the Minister inspected submerged villages and river systems to evaluate the impact of continuous rainfall.
Earlier in the day, Pujari chaired a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, where he interacted with district collectors and senior officials to assess preparedness and response measures. He directed authorities to ensure timely evacuation, relief distribution and infrastructure protection in vulnerable areas.
The Minister emphasised that the government is maintaining constant coordination among departments to manage the evolving flood situation and provide swift assistance to affected families.
Officials said the aerial survey helped identify critical zones requiring immediate intervention, including breaches and waterlogged regions. Relief teams from NDRF, ODRAF and Fire Services remain deployed across the districts.
