In a strong push to uphold judicial integrity and safeguard public interest, the Revenue and Disaster Management Department has issued firm directives for the proper maintenance and timely production of land lease records in court cases.
The move follows a recent High Court order and comes directly from Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, who has written to all District Collectors across Odisha.
Key Highlights:
- All land lease-related files must be safely preserved and produced accurately and on time before courts.
- Court orders, prevailing laws, and prescribed procedures must be followed without any negligence or delay.
- Any lapse in record-keeping will be treated seriously as it directly affects citizens’ rights and public trust.
- District Collectors have been asked to personally monitor record safety during field inspections and ensure subordinate offices maintain proper documentation within fixed timeframes.
Dr Padhee emphasised that ensuring legal decisions, time-bound action, and complete transparency in land lease matters is the collective responsibility of all revenue officials.
The department has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for carelessness in handling these critical records.
This latest directive reinforces the government’s commitment to building a transparent, accountable, and well-organised revenue administration in Odisha.
