The Union Cabinet passed a historic resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 uninterrupted years as the head of government.
Addressing a press conference at the state headquarters, Odisha BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Manmohan Samal hailed the day as a proud moment in India’s democratic history, attributing the milestone to the Prime Minister’s unwavering “Nation First, Citizen First” philosophy.
Highlighting PM Modi’s journey from serving three terms as Gujarat’s Chief Minister to leading India as Prime Minister across three consecutive terms, Samal noted key administrative benchmarks, including citizen grievance portals like “SWAGAT” and “PRAGATI,” alongside welfare initiatives such as “Jyotigram.” Key social achievements—60 crore Jan Dhan accounts, over 4 crore pucca homes, and lifting 25 crore people out of poverty—were spotlighted alongside structural reforms like the GST rollout, capital expenditure growth from ₹2 lakh crore to over ₹12 lakh crore, and major national security milestones including Section 370 abrogation, the 2016 Surgical Strike, and Operation Sindoor.
To mark this 25-year landmark, a nationwide “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha” will be held across 750 district headquarters tomorrow, October 7. PM Narendra Modi will directly address the nation, engaging with citizens on impactful welfare schemes. In Odisha, events will span 31 revenue districts and Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend the event in Khordha, while Deputy Chief Ministers, state cabinet ministers, MPs, and MLAs will lead gatherings across other districts.
