The Coastal Security Wing of Odisha Police will organise a State-Level Coastal Security Seminar 2026 on 4th June 2026 at Police Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
The seminar will bring together senior officials and subject experts from various central and state agencies to deliberate on the theme “Coastal Security Framework: Challenges, Gaps & Way Forward”.
The event will be inaugurated by the Director General of Police, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, Odisha, in the presence of senior officers from Odisha Police, the Indian Coast Guard, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Intelligence Bureau, CISF, and other stakeholder organisations involved in maritime and coastal security.
The valedictory session will be addressed by Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, IAS, and Hemant Sharma, IAS, ACS, Home Department, highlighting the State Government’s commitment towards ensuring a robust and integrated coastal security framework.

The day-long seminar will feature a series of expert lectures and discussions on critical aspects of coastal security, including emerging threats and challenges, coastal security frameworks, security sensitivity mapping at the sea-coast interface, technological advancements and e-surveillance, port and Single Point Mooring (SPM) security, and the integration of fishing communities as active partners in coastal vigilance.
Distinguished speakers include representatives from the Intelligence Bureau, New Delhi, Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian Coast Guard, CISF, and Kerala Police, along with senior officers from Odisha Police.
The seminar aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, inter-agency coordination, and policy discussions to further strengthen Odisha’s coastal security architecture and enhance preparedness against maritime security challenges.
Odisha, with its extensive coastline and strategic maritime importance, continues to strengthen its coastal security ecosystem through coordinated efforts involving security agencies, local communities, and technological interventions. The seminar is expected to contribute significantly to shaping future strategies for safeguarding the state’s coastline and maritime interests.
