The Odisha government on Friday released the fifth instalment of financial assistance under the CM‑KISAN scheme, directly benefiting more than 41 lakh farmer families across the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi transferred over Rs 833 crore into the bank accounts of beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) at a state‑level programme held at the Krushi Shiksha Sadan of OUAT in Bhubaneswar.
Under the latest instalment, each eligible farmer family—including small and marginal farmers, vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs), and landless households—will receive Rs 2,000.
The scheme aims to provide direct economic support to farming households, encouraging them to sustain and strengthen agricultural activities. Officials said the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and rural prosperity.
