In a significant administrative move announced on Monday, the Odisha Home Department has transferred two young Indian Police Service officers, reshuffling important posts linked to the Governor’s office and the state capital’s police commissionerate.
According to Notification No. 30766/IPS dated 24 August 2026, Ananya Awasthi, IPS (RR-2022), who was serving as Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Odisha, has been transferred and posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in the Police Commissionerate, Bhubaneswar-Kataka.
In a related order (Memo No. 30767/IPS), Anugu Shiva Maruthi Reddy, IPS (RR-2023), currently serving as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) at G. Udaygiri, has been transferred and posted as the new ADC to the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha.
These transfers place relatively young officers in sensitive and visible roles. The position of ADC to the Governor is a prestigious ceremonial and administrative assignment, while the ACP post in the Bhubaneswar-Kataka Commissionerate involves active urban policing responsibilities in the twin cities.
This latest reshuffle continues the regular process of cadre management within the Odisha cadre of the Indian Police Service, ensuring fresh leadership in key positions across the state.
