Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi concluded a high-octane two-day industrial outreach in Delhi-NCR today, securing investment proposals worth a massive Rs 66,392 crore with the potential to generate 54,135 employment opportunities for the people of Odisha.

Coming right after the successful Odisha Food Pro 2026, the Chief Minister’s focused mission combined one-on-one meetings with top industry leaders, sector-specific roundtables, and a hands-on visit to the Haier manufacturing facility in Noida. The engagements centred on manufacturing, textiles & apparel, engineering goods, aluminium downstream and ancillary industries — sectors that form the backbone of Odisha’s next growth chapter.

On the second day, CM Majhi toured Haier’s advanced manufacturing plant, interacting with company officials and technicians to understand cutting-edge production systems. The visit highlighted opportunities for electronics, consumer durables, and robust local supply chains in Odisha.

“Odisha is building an ecosystem where industries can grow, create jobs and build long-term value,” the Chief Minister said. “Our focus is not only on attracting investment, but also on creating employment, strengthening local supply chains and opening new opportunities for the youth of Odisha. We want investors to see Odisha as a reliable and long-term partner for growth.”

The outreach featured intense discussions: an Engineering Goods Manufacturing Roundtable with the Indian Industries Association, a Textile and Apparel Roundtable with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, and an Aluminium Ancillary and Downstream Roundtable organised with NALCO. These platforms allowed industry leaders to explore Odisha’s investor-friendly policies, skilled workforce, ports, infrastructure and abundant natural resources.

The numbers tell a compelling story:

  • Total investment proposals: ₹66,392 crore (potential jobs: 54,135)
  • MoUs signed: 38, amounting to ₹64,703 crore (jobs: 46,071)
  • Investment Intention Forms: ₹1,689 crore (jobs: 8,064)

Across the two days, the Odisha team held 46 high-level meetings and 208 industry interactions — a clear signal of rising confidence in the state’s industrial ecosystem.

Minister for Industries, Sampad Chandra Swain noted, “The response from industry in Delhi-NCR reflects the growing confidence in Odisha’s investment ecosystem. Our priority is to facilitate investors, strengthen sector-specific value chains and create more employment opportunities for the people of Odisha.”

Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Purvodaya and the accelerated development of Eastern India, the Double Engine government is positioning Odisha as a competitive manufacturing and employment hub.

As CM Majhi returned home, the message was clear: Odisha is ready for the next phase of industrial growth. With quality investments converting into projects on the ground, the state is set to deliver jobs, local value addition and a stronger contribution to India’s developed-economy journey.
