In a major administrative movement, the Government of Odisha’s General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department announced key transfers and appointments for senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers on Monday, September 7, 2026.
According to the official notification issued by order of the Governor, senior IAS officer Suresh Kumar Vashishth (IAS: 1998), who previously held the post of Principal Secretary to the Government, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department (along with additional charges), has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration & Public Grievances Department. He will also continue to retain additional charge as Principal Secretary to the Government, Parliamentary Affairs Department.
In another significant posting, Sudhansu Mohan Samal (IAS: 2010), Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Ltd., has been elevated to the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. He will also retain his additional responsibility as Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division), Kataka. Following this arrangement, the additional appointment of Girish S N (IAS) as Chairman of OMC Ltd. stands terminated upon Shri Samal taking charge.
Furthermore, Dr. Brundha D (IAS: 2010), who served as Mission Director, National Health Mission, with additional charge as CEO of State Health Assurance Society (SHAS), has been appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Government, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department.
