The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has cracked down on internal dissent by suspending two key local leaders from Rayagada. According to an official order issued from the party headquarters at Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar and signed by General Secretary Shri Bijaya Nayak, the order of the President, Sri Patnaikuni Mahesh Pattanaik, Chairman of Rayagada Municipality, and Smt. Sramita Padhi, Councillor of Ward No. 16 under Rayagada Municipality, have been suspended from the party with immediate effect.
The high-level disciplinary action was necessitated due to their proven involvement in anti-party activities.
