The Odisha Home Department has directed senior officials to immediately furnish details of vacant posts across their organisations.

Despite repeated instructions, several departments have not provided the required information, prompting the Special Secretary to issue an urgent letter.

Shri Subash Chandra Das, OAS, Special Secretary to Government-cum-Nodal Officer, wrote to the Director General of Police, the DG Fire Services, the DG Prisons, the CMD of Odisha State Police Welfare and Housing Corporation, the Registrar of the Odisha High Court, the Director of Odisha Judicial Academy, the Director of Public Prosecution, and the Manager of the State Guest House.

The letter emphasised that the Chief Secretary had earlier instructed all departments to identify vacant posts and send requisitions to recruiting agencies without delay. The matter will be reviewed in the upcoming meeting of all Secretaries scheduled for January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Officials were reminded that similar requests had been made earlier through departmental letters dated September 18, 2025, and December 3, 2025, but the information was still awaited. The Special Secretary stressed that the data must be furnished in the prescribed format by today to update the Recruitment Web Portal and facilitate discussion in the meeting.

The communication has been marked “Extremely Urgent,” underscoring the importance of timely compliance.
