Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to visit flood-affected areas of Bhadrak and Jajpur on Monday to assess the situation on the ground and review ongoing relief operations.
The visit comes amid significant flood-related damage in several parts of the two districts. The Chief Minister is expected to interact with officials, review the condition of affected residents and discuss immediate assistance and damage assessment.
CM Majhi to review flood relief operations
During his visit, CM Majhi will take stock of relief and rehabilitation measures being carried out in the affected areas. Officials are expected to brief him on the extent of damage and the assistance being provided to residents.
The Odisha government has also cancelled leave for government employees in view of the prevailing rain and flood situation. Employees who had already proceeded on leave have been directed to return to duty and assist with the ongoing response.
Three IAS officers deployed in worst-hit districts
The state government has deployed three IAS officers to the worst-affected districts to strengthen and expedite relief operations.
- Sudhansu Samal, Central Range RDC, has been assigned to Bhadrak.
- K Sudarshan Chakraborty, Managing Director of Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation, has been assigned to Baleshwar.
- P Anwesha Reddy, Excise Commissioner, has been assigned to Jajpur.
The officers will remain in their respective districts and supervise flood preparedness, relief and rehabilitation operations.
The Chief Minister’s field visit is expected to provide a first-hand assessment of the flood situation and help authorities determine further measures required to support affected communities.
