The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-test for three subjects of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) June 2026 session — English, Commerce, and Sociology — following widespread concerns over errors in the question papers.
The decision comes after candidates raised objections regarding factual inaccuracies, typographical mistakes, and translation flaws that compromised the integrity of the examination.
UGC-NET, a crucial qualifying test for lectureship and research fellowships across India, was conducted in June 2026. Soon after, candidates reported multiple discrepancies in the papers. Responding to the complaints, NTA constituted an expert committee to review the matter.
