Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has expanded the COVID-19 vaccination of 18- 44 year age group in 22 district headquarter Municipalities, NACs in the month of June 2021.
The State Health & Family Welfare Department Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra has written to all Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, Corporation, CDMs & PHOs remain in readiness for vaccination of 18 to 44 year age group.
The Health ACS said that under the Phase-III COVID-19 vaccination strategies, the vaccination of 18 to 44 year age group has already been started in five Municipal Corporations and six district headquarter Municipalities, NACs in the month of May 2021.
Now, the State government has approved the expansion of the vaccination of 18 to 44 year age group in the rest 22 district headquarter Municipalities, NACs in the month of June 2021.

Odisha is going to receive 6,45,790 doses of Covishield in June 2021 in three trenches, which will be distributed to districts for 1st dose vaccination based on their target beneficiaries, Mohapatra said.
The Health ACS asked the authorities concerned priority vaccination of students and athletes, aged between 18 to 44 years of the district, who will be going abroad.
The Health Department has asked the district authorities to remain in readiness for vaccination of 18 to 44 year age group in their district headquarter Municipalities, NAC, and to saturate the urban vaccination of the said age group in the shortest possible time.
