Puri: Odisha Police DG Sunil Kumar Bansal along with family members visited Puri on Tuesday and offered prayers to the Holy Trinity at the Srimandir.

Puri SP K Vishal Singh along with senior district police officers welcomed the DGP on his arrival at Shree Jagannath Temple.

Before entering Srimandir for darshan of Lord Jagannath and his sibling deities, DGP told media persons that more than 2 lakh devotees had hassle-free darshan of the Holy Trinity on Kartik Purnima.

About 70 platoons of police forces and 300 selected officers of the state were engaged for crowd control, and traffic management under the direction of Puri SP K Vishal Singh and the devotees had a very pleasant experience during darshan.

“I am thankful to Puri Police for the remarkable success in providing selfless service for the people during Panchuka and Kartik Purnima,” said Police DG Mr Bansal.

As Puri has seen a surge in pilgrims and tourists after the COVID-19 pandemic, the DGP reviewed the security measures to be taken as there is a possibility of a heavy rush during the New Year.
