Kendujhar bank case probe

In a powerful display of citizen-first governance, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has stepped in personally to resolve a distressing case of delayed bank payments in Kendujhar district, while ordering a high-level inquiry to ensure such lapses never recur.

The incident came to light when Jitu Munda, a resident of Patna in Kendujhar district, failed to receive his entitled funds from a local bank on time. Deeply pained by the plight of an ordinary citizen, the Chief Minister expressed profound sorrow and immediately directed officials to treat the matter with utmost urgency and empathy. He also advised all government functionaries to become far more sensitive and responsive towards the needs of common people.

Thanks to the CM’s swift intervention, the problem was resolved within hours. The affected family received Rs 30,000 as immediate assistance from the District Red Cross Fund. The death certificate of the deceased and the heir certificate were issued on the spot, and the full payable amount from the bank was also disbursed without further delay.

However, the Chief Minister made it clear that quick fixes alone are not enough. To identify exactly why the delay occurred and to prevent any repeat in future, he has ordered the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Northern Zone, to conduct a detailed probe. The inquiry will begin tomorrow and a comprehensive report is expected at the earliest.

This decisive action reflects the state government’s firm commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-centric administration.
