Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a 2% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners, raising the rate from 58% to 60%.
The hike will take effect retrospectively from January 1, 2026. Employees will receive the revised DA in cash with their May salary, while pensioners will get the increased TI with their May pension.
The announcement benefits nearly 8.5 lakh employees and pensioners across the state. Officials said the decision aims to provide relief against rising inflation and ensure parity with central government revisions.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the government remains committed to supporting its workforce and retirees.
