Bhubaneswar: Amid the rising threat of Covid-19 Omicron Variant in the country, Odisha Chief Secretary will chair a high-level meeting today at Loka Seva Bhawan to discuss ways to tackle current health emergencies.
Meanwhile, after two foreign returnees have been detected to be infected with the Coronavirus Omicron variant in Odisha, two localities in Bhubaneswar have been declared as containment zones on Tuesday.
Odisha reported its first two cases of Omicron variant of Covid-19. It is learnt while one of the affected persons had returned from Nigerian recently, the other arrived from Qatar.
Odisha on Wednesday reported 183 new positive cases of Covid-19, out of which 30 are between the age of 0-18 years.
With a total of 55,794 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the test positivity rate (TPR) stands at 0.32%.
