In a significant boost to Odisha’s development agenda, Chief Secretary Anu Garg chaired a high-powered secretaries-level meeting at Kharavela Bhawan today, where sweeping plans for statewide road connectivity and Koraput district’s ambitious 25-point development blueprint stole the spotlight.
The meeting brought together Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Principal Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretaries, Commissioners and Secretaries from various departments. Adding a fresh dimension, 2024-batch IAS probationers of the Odisha cadre also attended to gain real-time administrative insights. Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan joined virtually and delivered a detailed presentation on the district’s flagship initiatives.
Opening the session, Chief Secy Garg lauded key March achievements. She specially congratulated the Skill Development Department for Odisha’s stellar performance in the India Skills 2025-26 competition and praised the Shree Mandir Administration for the meticulous “Ganati-Manati” inventory of the Ratna Bhandar. She also highlighted the successful “Ame Janiba Ama Budget” campaign and noted the impressive jump in I-GOT Karmayogi Bharat onboarding — from 95% to 98% — crediting Gopabandhu Administrative Academy’s efforts. The statewide celebration of “Odia Paksha” received warm appreciation too.
A major highlight was the preview of the soon-to-be-launched **Uplabdhi Portal** by CMGI. The portal will allow every department to upload monthly milestones, progress and successes, enabling real-time monitoring by departments and the Chief Minister’s Office.
Finance Department Principal Secretary Sanjeev Mishra underlined the importance of utilising central assistance (SASCI) to attract capital investment. Works Department Principal Secretary Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh then presented 25 flagship projects aimed at dramatically improving Odisha’s road network. The long-term plan is expected to revolutionise inter-district connectivity and open new doors for tourism and economic activity.
The centrepiece of the meeting was Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan’s inspiring presentation titled **“Koraput Sparks X”**. Aligning perfectly with the state’s “Vikasit Odisha” vision, the collector outlined 25 district-specific transformative steps covering livelihood enhancement, agriculture and animal husbandry, spice cultivation, fisheries, flower hub development, handloom industry, airport upgradation, mega drinking water project, tourism promotion, bridge and road construction, and accelerated industrial growth.
Special emphasis was placed on leveraging the iconic **Parab** folk festival as a platform to showcase Koraput’s rich culture and development story to the world.
The meeting concluded on a note of renewed energy, with senior officials affirming that these coordinated efforts will not only strengthen physical infrastructure but also ignite sustainable, inclusive growth across Odisha — especially in aspirational districts like Koraput.
