The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved significant appointments of senior Odia officers to top positions in the Government of India.
IRS officer Ansuman Pattanaik (IT:94), currently serving as Director General of the Competition Commission of India, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. His elevation reflects his expertise in regulatory and corporate governance matters.
IAS officer Chandra Sekhar Kumar (OR:92), serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the National Rainfed Area Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He will hold the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
The ACC also approved in situ upgradation of several officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary. Among them is Sanjay Rastogi (OR:91), Director General of the National Archives of India, Ministry of Culture. His post has been temporarily upgraded to the Secretary level.
Additionally, Vir Vikram Yadav (OR:96) has been appointed as Director General of Civil Aviation in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, replacing Faiz Ahmed Kidwai. The ACC kept recruitment rules in abeyance to facilitate this appointment.
Another Odia officer, Vishal Gagan (OR:98), has been appointed as Secretary, Central Information Commission under the Department of Personnel and Training. His post has also been upgraded to the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
