Commissionerate Police arrested notorious mobile snatcher Shankar Reddy and his associate Kunal Behera in the capital city on charges of snatching mobile phones from women at the ongoing Flower Show in Nayapalli.
According to police, the accused targeted women visiting the exhibition and forcibly took away their mobile phones. The victims immediately lodged complaints at the Nayapalli police station. Acting swiftly, police tracked down the duo and arrested them.
Investigators revealed that Shankar Reddy, already known as a habitual offender, had been involved in similar crimes earlier. His repeated involvement in mobile snatching incidents had made him a dreaded name in Bhubaneswar.
The arrests have raised awareness about women’s safety during public events in the city. Citizens praised the prompt action of the Commissionerate Police, which ensured quick justice and restored confidence among visitors.
Police confirmed that further investigation into the case is underway.
