Bhubaneswar: After experiencing cold condition in last couple of days, several places of Odisha is going to witness warmer night as IMD predicted the night temperature to go up from tomorrow
Many places saw a continuous drop in mercury level as cold wave prevailed at isolated places in several districts of the State.
The night temperature would witness a gradual rise by 2°C to 3°C in the next three to four days. The mercury level will start increasing from Monday at a few places, said IMD’s latest forecast.
The minimum temperature at 10 places was hovering below10°C . Hill station G Udayagiri recorded 3.2°C followed by Phulbani at 5.6°C.
Coldwave warning has been issued to Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Kandhamal districts till Sunday, the forecast said.
“There will be again chances of rise in mercury level gradually from Sunday night,” said H R Biswas, head of the regional IMD centre in Bhubaneswar. This would be again due weakening of prevailing wind pattern, he said.
Biswas said minimum temperature saw a drop by 3°C to 5°C at some places in the last 24 hours. Phulbani at 5.6°C saw highest 5.4°C drop from normal. Bhubaneswar is likely to experience minimum of 14.4°C a drop by 22°C.
