The devastating floods in Nepal have claimed more Odia victims, with three members of a family from Baragada’s Jampali village reported missing.
The missing include Gunnam Jayakrishna, his wife Gunnam Sai Bindu Kumari, and their two‑year‑old daughter.
Jayakrishna, who was employed at a hydro project in Nepal, had been living with his family near the flood‑hit Bhote Koshi river region. Their disappearance has raised the number of missing Odias in the Nepal floods to five, following earlier reports of a Khordha couple and a Baripada woman untraced.
Authorities in Nepal, along with India’s Ministry of External Affairs, are coordinating rescue efforts as hundreds remain missing across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha districts. Families in Odisha are anxiously awaiting updates, with the state government monitoring the situation closely.
