The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday announced the NEET UG 2026 results, bringing relief to lakhs of medical aspirants across the country. More Than 11.21 Lakh Candidates Qualify
According to the NTA, over 11.21 lakh candidates qualified the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026.
Female candidates accounted for 58 per cent of the successful candidates, highlighting their strong representation among this year’s qualifiers.
The examination remains the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes offered by institutions across the country.
Exam Conducted Amid Heightened Security
The NEET UG 2026 examination was initially conducted on May 3.
However, the examination later came under scrutiny following allegations of a question paper leak, which sparked nationwide concern among students and parents.
In response, authorities conducted a re-examination on June 21 under enhanced security arrangements to maintain the integrity of the examination process.
Admission Process to Begin
With the results now declared, the focus shifts to the medical counselling and seat allocation process, through which qualified candidates will compete for admission to medical colleges across India.
Candidates are advised to keep their scorecards and required documents ready and regularly check official notifications regarding counselling schedules and admission procedures.
The counselling process is expected to begin shortly through the designated authorities for the All India Quota and respective state quotas.
