The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet in the NEET‑UG 2026 paper leak case, alleging that three National Testing Agency (NTA) subject experts exploited frisking and CCTV gaps to copy confidential questions and pass them through intermediaries months before the exam.

The chargesheet, filed before the Special CBI Court at Rouse Avenue, Delhi, names 13 accused, including NTA experts, intermediaries, coaching providers, and candidates. Investigators say the conspiracy involved reconstructing questions during translation and proofreading work, smuggling slips of paper, and later dictating questions in coaching sessions.

Digital evidence — including WhatsApp groups, Telegram chats, PDF files, photographs, and mobile phone records — forms a major part of the case. Forensic analysis allegedly traced leaked questions to intermediaries and aspirants willing to pay.

The CBI highlighted systemic lapses: absence of frisking at the confidential section, limited CCTV backup (20–25 days), and lack of live monitoring. These weaknesses allegedly enabled experts to remove or reproduce questions undetected.

The chargesheet cites 360 witnesses, 422 documents, and 43 material objects, invoking provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Prevention of Corruption Act, and Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. All accused are currently in judicial custody.
