A murder case has emerged in Bolangir district’s Khaprakhol area, where a financial dispute took a deadly turn.
Around 9 PM near a river bridge on the way from Bande Padar to Putulamahul, Sushil Sahu was fatally assaulted following a heated disagreement with Pintu Sahu over a monetary transaction.
Reports reveal that Sushil, accompanied by Bikas Sahu, had visited Pintu’s residence to settle a financial dispute linked to prior business dealings. However, tensions flared, leading to verbal arguments and eventually physical confrontation. Bikas Sahu intervened to diffuse the situation and sent Sushil back to his village.
Later that night, Sushil was found brutally beaten near the river bridge, his lifeless body lying in a pool of blood. Alarmed by his absence, Sushil’s family discovered the body and reported it to the Khaprakhol police. Upon reaching the hospital, doctors confirmed Sushil’s death.
Police investigations led to the arrest of the primary accused, Pintu Sahu, and legal action has been initiated under relevant sections. Officer Narendra Chhatar has stated that further investigations are in progress.
